Vicky is the Visual Director at Serious Eats and has been with the site since 2014. Prior to Serious Eats, she ran around New York restaurants and kitchens shooting for a variety of media companies, flew to Mexico to shoot destination weddings, and once worked on a dude ranch in Wyoming. She entered the food world via an internship at Starchefs.com, which developed into a full-time position as photo editor/staff photographer. After a few years building her portfolio and shooting in restaurant kitchens around the country, she went freelance and started working with Edible Brooklyn as a photo editor and staff photographer. She also started shooting for publications like Time Out NY and Village Voice, as well as independently for restaurants around New York City.
Vicky hails from and currently lives in Brooklyn, and can be found making plates, bowls, and other ceramics (often featured in our photographs) in her pottery studio when she isn't behind the camera.
Vicky's Desert Island Food: A bar of dark chocolate. "Logistically speaking, if you cover anything in chocolate, it tastes better, so it would probably come in handy to cover insects, berries, and nuts with to make them more palatable!"
Vicky graduated from Skidmore College in 2007 with a major in art history and a minor in photography.
