Add a layer of sauce (which you've made by cooking canned pureed tomatoes in the same garlic butter that you spread on the bread).

The Final Touches

French bread pizza can be as good or bad as you want it to be. I think most of you would opt for good.
Olive oil and butter
Start with a mix of olive oil and butter to form the base of your garlic sauce.
I add mixture of garlic, dried oregano, chili flakes, and chopped fresh parsley and basil, along with a big pinch of salt.
Press down on the sliced bread in order to get it to lie flat as it bakes Otherwise it curls up around the edges.
Spread half of the garlic mixture over the cut bread to infuse it with a layer of flavor and to prevent excessive absorption of sauce.
