I am hoping someone can help me figure out a way to make a jerky bar. I have made beef jerky in the past and it came out pretty well. I am wondering if it would be possible to make it in bar form? I would like to be able to add things like dried fruit or nuts? My son is 17 and an athlete, he usually has a power bar or something along those lines during games or practices. But he is tired of only having the option of something sweet. I was thinking something like bbq seasoning and add some dried cherries??? I have found recipes for pemmican, but it sounds kind of gross and seems to have A LOT of fat. I am not concerned with the amount of calories or anything, because he burns calories like crazy. I just thought the amount of fat called for in the recipes sounded gross and greasy. I am also interested to know if anyone has any ideas for any other savory protein/power/granola type bar. Any help will be very appreciated!!
