Where's the best Italian cheesecake in New York City?

First, define Italian cheesecake. I always thought it was just another name for the ricotta pie, but I have heard it referred to as Sicilian cheesecake as well. Is there a difference between Italian and Sicilian cheesecake? Are there other variations on Italian cheesecake? And most importantly--where can I find them in this grand old city?
