The Pillsbury Bake-Off makes me sad...

Back when I was baking with the E-Z Bake Oven, the Pillsbury Bake-Off looked like something to aspire to. It was a really really big deal, and it meant that you were a good home cook. If you look at the really old winners, people were using Pillsbury flour to make whatever if was they were making, but that's no longer the case. I just saw the four category winners, and every one uses some pre-made ingredient. There are tacos made from canned biscuits and a pizza-like thing made from breadsticks and the dessert winner uses some kind of cookie dough. Mercifully, I don't remember the fourth one at the moment. I think it used a pie crust.

Do you think that as people are getting more interested in cooking that this trend will change, and the Bake-Off will go back to using ingredients instead of manipulating the pre-made stuff?

Or has that particular contest changed forever?
