Welcome to the Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we thumb through the food sections of various national newspapers to create a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
This week's inspiration come from two places, an article in the New Orleans Times-Picayune about cooking with cheese and Maggie Hoffman's roundup of The Best Macaroni and Cheese in New York City. Reading both these items has left me thinking a lot about cheese and all the delicious ways it can be incorporated into dishes.
The rules for this week's challenge are simple: All you have to do is make it cheesy. Macaroni and cheese is a great place to start, as are cheese balls, cheese sticks, or anything else that springs to mind. And, of course, cheese-based desserts are always welcome; think ricotta or goat cheese cheesecake. We'll leave the choice of stinky over mild, and aged versus fresh up to you.
