Cheesecake Help

Made a cheesecake the other day for a friends birthday and I really liked the recipe and it came out very pretty but I just felt like something was missing.

It just tasted bland to me and didn't have that "tart tang" to it and all I could taste was cream cheese.

I would have also liked it to be more on the dry side.

Any advice? Thanks?
