We're hosting the Big Meal here this year, with 10 children (cousins) between the ages of 5 and 15. We'll be eating inside, but we all love it outdoors, and I'd love to have a few things the kids can cook (supervised)outside, say, over an open fire or grill that will keep them and the dads occupied while we tend to the other things inside. It's upstate NY, so it can be pretty cold, but they all love the adventure aspect. I have no problem bundling kids up and making them GO OUTSIDE to do something productive.
Any ideas for some different things we could try? I'm thinking along the lines of historic foods, like, say, roasted squash bowls, or cornbread or....?
