Cynar Iced Tea Recipe

A super drinkable and surprisingly refreshing iced tea with a bitter kick. I had big plans to fix this iced tea up with mint leaves, agave, and plenty of citrus, but found that I liked this pared down version the best.

  • Yield:1 cocktail, makes enough green tea for 6 cocktails
  • Active time: 5 minutes
  • Total time:4 hours

  • For the Iced Green Tea:
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 green tea bags
  • For Each Cocktail:
  • 1 1/2 ounces Cynar
  • 3 dashes Fee Brothers West Indian Orange Bitters
  • 1/2 cup (4 ounces) chilled green tea
  • Garnish: lemon wedge (optional)

  1. 1.

For the Iced Green Tea: Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan. When it just reaches a boil, remove from heat and steep the tea for just 2 minutes. Let cool to room temperature and refrigerate until cool.

  2. 2.

For Each Cocktail: Combine the Cynar, bitters, and green tea in a small glass. Stir to combine and top with ice. Garnish with lemon wedge if desired.
