Candy Bar Salad Recipe

If Candy Bar salad sounds like some sort of new fangled concoction, think again! Candy Bar Salad has been kicking around since at least 1926 as this Ladies Home Journal advertorial for Oh Henry! candy bars shows. In this adaptation I've pared it down to the basics: tart Granny Smith apple slices, Snickers pieces, caramel drizzle, and homemade whipped cream—no lettuce leaves, mayo or Cool Whip required!

Note: You're welcome to sub in any candy that you think will go well with apples and caramel. If you feel like making your caramel sauce from scratch, give this recipe a try.

  • Active time: 15 minutes
  • Total time:15 minutes

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 3 (2.07 ounce) Snickers bars, diced
  • 1/2 cup of caramel syrup

  1. 1.

Pour cream into the bowl of a stand mixer. Turn mixer to high and begin beating. Add sugar while mixer is running. Beat until soft peaks form.

  2. 2.

Divide apple slices evenly among serving bowls. Top with Snickers pieces then whipped cream and drizzle with caramel. Serve immediately.
