Blackberry-Sage Lemonade Recipe

You usually think of sage as a savory herb, but its camphorous, slightly minty aroma works well in this sweet drink made with blackberries and lemon.

Ingredients
- 1 quart blackberries
- 1 cup fresh juice from 10 to 12 lemons
- 1/2 cup sugar
- pinch salt
- 1 bunch fresh sage
- 3 cups cold water
- 1 quart ice
- Blackberries and sage leaves for serving

Combine blackberries, lemon juice, sugar, and salt in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth, about 1 minute. Meanwhile, place sage leaves in bottom of pitcher and muddle briefly with a wooden spoon. Strain blackberry puree through a fine mesh strainer into pitcher. Discard solids. Add cold water and whisk to combine. Add ice. Serve in ice-filled glasses garnished with blackberries and sage leaves clapped between your hands.
