Muesli with Nuts and Dried Fruits Recipe

- Yield:4
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- ½ cup wheat germ
- ½ cup chopped dried apricots
- ½ cup raisins
- ¼ cup sunflower seeds
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts
- ¼ cup chopped hazelnuts
- ¼ cup chopped almonds
- 1/2 large apple, cored and diced
- 1 cup milk or yogurt
Directions
-
1.
Combine all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to two months.
-
2.
To serve, place one cup of muesli in a bowl and add the chopped apple and the milk or yogurt. While some people like eating their muesli immediately, some people prefer to let the oats soak up milk or yogurt for 10 or 20 twenty minutes.
-
3.
For a “New World” Americas version, try substituting peanuts and pecans for the walnuts and hazelnuts, and try peaches instead of apples and cranberries instead of raisins! Shredded coconut and chopped dates or figs are also fun mix-ins.
