Walnut Herb Pesto Recipe


  • 1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Romano cheese, grated
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, coarsely ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

    Combine all ingredients except the olive oil and pulse until minced. Add the olive oil a little at a time and continue to pulse until the mixture thickens but is still a little chunky. Spoon over a pound of just-cooked pasta and toss until well combined. Serve immediately, with a glass of cold Pinot Grigio.
