Apple Meringue Recipe

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 batch apple puree
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup superfine sugar, plus extra for sprinkling

    Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an ovenproof dish with the butter.

    Prepare the apple puree and spread it out in the prepared dish. Beat the egg whites and sugar to stiff peaks and cover the apples with them.

    Sprinkle with a little more sugar. Bake for 15 minutes, or until brown.
