Rice Krispies Sushi Recipe
No, there isn't raw fish in these Rice Krispies treats, just good old-fashioned marshmallows, Swedish Fish gummies, and Fruit by the Foot (or Fruit Roll-Ups). My friend made them for me as a Christmas present and they were so darn cute, I couldn't stop taking pictures. Not bad tasting either, as a sweet and crunchy snack. Plus, it's a fun hands-on activity for the kids. The recipe, after the jump.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies (or other puffed rice cereal)
- 4 cups marshmallows
- 1/4 cup butter
- 12 to 20 Swedish Fish (or other fish-shaped candy)
- 1 package of Fruit by the Foot or Fruit Roll-Ups
- Gummy worms (optional)
Directions
-
1.
Unwrap Swedish Fish and Fruit by the Foot and set to side. Prepare a baking sheet with wax paper.
-
2.
Melt butter and marshmallows together.
-
3.
Once melted together reduce heat and gently stir in Rice Krispies.
-
4.
Keep mixture warm and pliable and immediatly start forming into sushi-sized balls (or a little bigger). Place Swedish Fish on top and wrap with a piece of the Fruit by the Foot. Lie on baking sheet and work till all Rice Krispies mix is finished.
-
5.
If you are feeling ambitious, wrap some of the mixture around a folded gummy worm for the "stuffed" effect.
