Karen DeMasco is the executive pastry chef of ABC Kitchen, ABC Cocina, and ABCV, a group of restaurants owned by Jean-Georges Vongerichten. DeMasco is known for using local produce and house-ground grains in her desserts. She won a 2005 James Beard Foundation Award for Best Pastry Chef while working for Craft, Craftbar, and 'witchcraft, Tom Colicchio's Crafted Hospitality Group. She is the author of the cookbook The Craft of Baking. Karen spent a year running kitchen operations for Ovenly, and has been the pastry chef at restaurants such as Hearth, Locanda Verde, Chanterelle, Gramercy Tavern, and Fore Street.
