He created the acclaimed food blog Teenage Gluster at 16 and has since written for Los Angeles Times, Saveur, Serious Eats, The Washington Post, MSN, Munchies, VICE UK, Lucky Peach, and Food & Wine, among others. His knowledge of the Los Angeles food scene made him an ideal restaurant scout for the late food critic Jonathan Gold. Javier co-authored the cookbook Oaxaca: Home Cooking from the Heart of Mexico (2019). Javier served as associate producer for the James Beard Media Award-winning Netflix series Las Crónicas Del Taco (The Taco Chronicles). He is an editor for L.A.
