Jake Lahne is an assistant professor in the department of food science and technology at Virginia Tech, where he studies the sensory evaluation and analysis of foods. His current work centers around the flavor profiles and sensory qualities of distilled and fermented products, applying machine learning methodologies to improve whiskey tastings, and the integration of food science and food studies.
