  • Hawk’s idea to illustrate a series of regional hot dogs captured the attention of Serious Eats founder and hot dog enthusiast Ed Levine, which resulted in Hawk writing and illustrating a “Hot Dog of the Week” column for the site.
  • His food writing and illustrations have appeared in various media outlets, including Saveur, Serious Eats, Rachael Ray Magazine, First We Feast, Next City, and LA TACO. His food paintings and illustrations have shown in art galleries and venues in Philadelphia, Miami, and Los Angeles. 
  • Hawk was a line cook at Brasserie Perrier in Philadelphia when he began creating comics about his kitchen experiences, drawing spot illustrations of terrines and steaks during off-hours.
