He recently graduated from the University of Texas Tech with a BA in French, and is also enthusiastic about cooking and food; his particular interest is in the civic power of food, particularly the power of food and foodways to develop politically, financially, and environmentally strong communities.
George has served as President of the Texas Tech Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club, Vice President of Deafblind Citizens in Action, board member for the Collaboration and Assistive Technology for Students with Sensory Impairments program through TTU’s Sowell Center, and is a founding member of the 501(C)3 organization DeafBlind Citizens in Action. When not in school, he divides his time unevenly between the kitchen, the presenter's circuit, the jiu-jitsu mat, and Facebook.
