Everything you want to know about chocolate
Brittle is the underdog of the holiday season. Everyone is enamored of sparkling sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies slick with icing. Poor, sweet brittle is oft-overlooked. And hopefully, this brittle will change things.
It's definitely not traditional. This is not a slab of milk or white chocolate studded with nuts or chunks of peppermint. This is part cookie, part brownie, and wholly delicious.
Thankfully, this brittle is as easy to make as it is to eat. It takes under half an hour to whip up a batch of the crispy, chewy bark. It is wonderfully adaptable. Feel free to stir in whatever strikes your fancy—toffee pieces, dried fruit, candy. Anything goes! And, for the gluten intolerant out there, it just so happens to be gluten-free.
