For our debut feature over on Medium, we want to see what you're cooking. Head to the Serious Eats Holiday Cook-Off collection, where our team has selected five of our favorite original holiday recipes. Sure, you can roast a juicy turkey, but why not attempt an even more impressive stunt with the ultimate beef Wellington? Try a salty spin on a starchy side with extra-crispy herb-roasted new potatoes. Or if you're in the mood for a marathon, suit up for deep-fried sous-vide 36-hour all-belly porchetta. Rather than popping open a can of cranberry sauce, wouldn't it be chic to unveil a terrine of chicken liver pâté with bourbon and cranberry gelée? And if you hunger for something new, easy, and crazy good, consider two words: stuffing waffles.
After you've checked out the recipes, pick any (or all!) that you'd like to try cooking yourself. Then create a response post (hit the "Write a response" button at the end of any recipe on Medium) to show off your results and your riffs on the originals. Include photos, videos, or GIFs of your process and creation. You can be funny, you can be frustrated, you can triumph or fail with equal flavor. We've added a little incentive here: Responses we like will be added to the Holiday Cook-Off collection —and one awesome response to each recipe will earn an $100 Amazon gift card, sure to come in handy if Santa doesn't bring that high-output torch you wanted.
We'll consider submissions all the way up to midnight on December 31, 2014. So check out the collection and get cooking!
