A breadmaker in the house
Our bread contributor Max Bernstein dropped by for a dough-mixing photoshoot (stay tuned for that post next week). The result...
What to do with all that dough? MAKE LOTS OF FOCACCIA!
Max & Max.
One makes ice cream. One makes bread. Together they rule the world.
Anchovies and everything bagel mix
The great thing about focaccia is that you can put anything on it.
So crispy, so fluffy.
Can we have a bread baker in the office every day?
Return of the pups!
Kenji's back from his summer of travels and is settling into his new digs in San Francisco. More importantly, his dogs, after a summer of romping through Sacramento, are ready to get back to work. Here they are, slaving away in the warm California sun. Get to it guys, these fan emails aren't going to answer themselves!
Someday, Lad, all this will be yours
Hambone has declared himself Mayor of Potrero Hill (there wasn't even an election!). Here he is, surveying his new stomping grounds behind the house. Is that the Golden Gate Bridge over there, and more importantly, can I pee on it? he asks.
This is Max. Max likes dumplings. And we went to check out a restaurant called Dumpling Galaxy. So, yea, he was pretty happy.
A few days after our bread baker visit, we still had dough left over, so we obviously needed more focaccia. Niki took charge.
Then this happened.
Grape tomatoes, Parmesan, shallots, garlic, chili flakes, and thyme = flavor bomb.
Puppy chow: for people, not dogs.
Stalking his prey...
Ben looks a little skeptical about the puppy chow.
What's the verdict?
He likes it!
Sadly, this is the season when our awesome interns have to say goodbye. This week, editorial intern Ben is heading back to college. Good luck, Ben!
