When my college friends and I were brainstorming cities for a meet-up weekend, New Orleans was at the top of everyone's list—for the warm weather and the music, of course, but mostly for the food. Naturally, I made a spreadsheet of where to go and what to get, so that no matter where we wandered, we had good options. We didn't come close to checking everything off the list; the city was even more saturated with must-try eats than I'd anticipated. But with just four days in the city we made a good dent, the best of which can be found in the slideshow »

- Pork Burger, Gambino sandwich, brussels sprouts, and pancetta mac and cheese from Cochon Butcher

- Grits from Le Petit Grocery
