Almost as soon as Hambone and Yuba came into the office, they went into napping mode. We envy them so very much.

Kenji and Nick have been dry aging steaks in a special fridge in the office for the last 100 days. Unfortunately, the fridge was accidentally unplugged at some point, and none of the steaks were salvageable due to rot. :(

Our old pet fish died (RIP Jeff), so Kenji went to a local fish store to pick up some new Jeffs (Kenji names all his fish Jeff).

Yuba naps most of the time, but she'll get out of bed for a meat snack.

We were pleasantly surpriesd to see this huge poster of our Best Wonton Soup in Manhattan's Chinatown post in the window at our #1 choice, Noodle Village.

We surprised Kenji on his birthday (Halloween) with...a FUDGIE THE WHALE ICE CREAM CAKE! Yeah, it's probably more for five-year-olds, but whatever. As for why we got him this cake, he mentioned liking Fudgie some time ago. We will associate Fudgie with Kenji...forever.

Niki, Rémy, Paul, and Jim go in for the kill.

Niki dressed up as Nancy from The Craft and Jamie dressed up as Magritte's The Son of Man. (And the rest of us...didn't bring costumes to the office. We are lame.)

Kenji did a casual taste test of Cheez-It vs. Cheese Nips. In conclusion, Cheez-It all the way.

We had a double birthday week! We celebrated Max's birthday with an extra-large DKA (Dominique's Kouign Amann) from one of our favorite bakeries, Dominique Ansel. If you want to feed a crowd a flaky, super buttery, caramelized-to-a-crisp pastry, this is the way to do it.

Before our heating turned on, some of us took extreme measures to stay warm. This is Jamie's new winter look.
