The juicy, crispy Pennsylvania Amish-sourced buttermilk fried chicken is considered among the best in DC, and with good reason. It's braised low and slow, then seasoned and quickly fried—an usual preparation that results in salty, flavor-packed packed poultry.
But it's never been served in a bucket...until now. That's right—just in time for the start of DC's muggy, swampy summer, Pearl Dive is now offering its fried chicken by the bucket.
For $25, you get a bright yellow bucket filled with six pieces of dark meat, three house-made corn bread muffins, and a side of slaw and bacon braised collard greens. The dense corn bread is packed with whole kernels of corn, and the rich greens have a slow heat that lingers through the meal. The picnic-perfect package is ideal for lawnside dining at Dupont Circle. Just don't forget to BYOB (blankets, too!).
