Crisp toast and savory, salty shrimp paste—this classic dim sum dish already had the making of a fantastic brunch. Putting a piece of bacon on top just takes something that was already delicious and, well, adds bacon.

If you have the time, a crisp cabbage salad with lime vinaigrette and a few bottles of Tsingtao beer make a full brunch that will put a smile on your face no matter what you got yourself into last night. And you don't even have to drag yourself down to your local dim sum restaurant.

Although this recipe comes together very quickly with the aid of a food processor, you can still make it without one. Mince your ginger, scallions and garlic very fine, and take some time chopping the shrimp until it forms a paste that will adhere to the bread.
