Check out the Food Film Festival in Connecticut at the Glass House on June 9th

We're big fans of the Food Film Festival, George Motz's celebration of food-based films where you taste the food you see on screen. Come October and November, the Fest will be kicking off its Chicago and New York events, but you can check out a brand new event this summer at the Phillip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan, CT on June 9th.

The Glass House—open to the public at night for the very first time—will show what Motz considers the "most significant films we've shown during the Festival's five-year history." (You check out the full line up here.) And there'll be plenty of great food through the films, with bites from Artisan's Frederic Kieffer and Marcia Selden Catering ranging from oysters to sliders to ice cream—all of which are related to the films on screen.

Earlier that day, the Glass House will also be hosting the Dine with Design Modern Picnic, with bites from celebrated chefs like Tony Maws (Craigie on Main), Missy Robbins (A Voce and Columbus), Ana Sortun (Oleana), and more; plus oysters, cheeses, chocolates, and other tastes from American artisan producers like Island Creek Oysters and Tuthilltown Spirits.

The proceeds for both events will benefit the Glass House, an architectural monument and historic site made out of—you guessed it—glass. The Modern Picnic runs from 12 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, June 9th, and the Festival runs that evening at 6:30. You can get tickets for both events here. All the chefs at the event are featured in Harvest to Heat: Cooking with America's Best Chefs, Farmers, and Artisans.
