Just in time for the start of baseball season, we recently compiled a list of the best hot dogs and sausages near the Major League ballparks. Not the crazy concoctions served in the parks that we featured last year, but the real-deal joints and carts just outside the stadium or a short drive away. And I was really excited to do this Minor League version, knowing that small towns tend to be ground zero for amazing old-school hot dog joints and eccentric cart dudes.
I don't know about you, but I plan most of my vacations around proximity to food, mostly legendary and unique hot dog places that I haven't yet crossed off my ever growing list. But this one was tough. There are hundreds of Minor League baseball teams across various leagues, each with several amazing looking hot dog spots within close proximity to the stadium.
You could literally spend years driving across the country watching Minor League games and surveying the hot dog landscape of every small city and town in America. So don't take this as a definitive "best of" but more like "exactly where I would go if I went on a trip around the country to watch minor league baseball games but really to eat hot dogs". If you've got any to add to the list, speak up!
