There are countless reasons to look forward to the weekend, but for us one of the highlights is tuning into Saturday's broadcast of The Splendid Table. Hosted by the lovely Lynne Rossetto Kasper, this weekly magazine radio show has been bringing together an incredible array of food world luminaries, cookbook authors, and wine experts since 1994. (You can even hear our own Ed dishing about frozen pizza and the culinary wonderland that is Queens.) Listening through the show's archives, you'll soon see that The Splendid Table has been way ahead of the food game since its inception.
Then there's the second half of the show where Lynne answers listeners' queries, proving herself on a weekly basis as an unstumpable woman when it comes to kitchen conundrums.
Needless to say we're big Splendid Table fans and we've been looking forward to their cookbook, The Splendid Table's How to Eat Weekends for quite a while. It's the latest companion cookbook from Lynne and her producer Sally Swift, and it's just as fantastic as the show itself, minus the tinkling piano intro music, of course.
