SE'rs, a smart and well-read bunch of bananas, feel very strongly about the language used to describe food and drink. This we know well. So I wonder how this is going to go down.... Did you know that the Oxford English Dictionary recently recognized nom nom and sammich as words? (I know, it makes me cringe, too.)
But on the bright side, the OED, considered the authority on the English language, also admitted banh mi, pork bun, Eton mess, rugelach, and pulled pork to the lexicon. So maybe the good outweighs the bad here?
