Weekend Cook and Tell Round Up: Party Spreads

Last week for our Weekend Cook and Tell we asked all of you to share your Game Day menus for a challenge we called Super Bowl Spreads. Judging by the menus that all of you served last weekend, it looks like you more than covered the spread. Let's take a look at some of our favorites.

ElizabethS isn't the biggest football fan but Super Bowl Sunday was a great excuse for her to whip up a spread of tapas including Gruyère wrapped in Bacon and Gambas al Ajillo along with a batch of good ol' American chicken wings.

We're guessing that techgirl was rooting for the Steelers with this Pennsylvania-centric menu of pierogis, chili, wings, and plenty of Iron City and Yuengling to wash it all down.

carmason put together a heart-stoppingly delicious spread including Buffalo chicken sloppy joes, bulid your own potato skins with a toppings bar, hot onion dip, bacon-wrapped jalapeño, and bacon cheeseburger dip. Our own coffee columnist Erin Meister served up fajitas, margaritas, gallo pinto (a Nicaraguan take on rice and beans), and mini peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches. For dessert? Guinness and and red velvet cake.

BananaMonkey thought that Super Bowl Sunday would be an ideal day to experiment with cow's milk after abstaining for a while in the form of Kenji's cheese sauce. Also on the menu: pork shiu mai and slow roasted pork ribs.

While most folks kept their Super Bowl menus strictly savory flavacrisp decided to end the meal on a sweet note with a giant chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet with vanilla ice cream.
