When Kenji was constructing his hacker version of Shake Shack's Double Shack Stack—a Meunster cheese-stuffed, deep-fried portobello mushroom atop the Shackburger, but in this case doubled—at the office this week, we gathered around as Robyn fearlessly took the first bite. Ouch! That oozy, stretchy cheese blanket hiding inside the crispy breaded portobello burns! Her poor, defenseless tongue was crying tears of pain. And then we all decided to join the fun.
Here's a photo gallery of our post-bite reaction faces. It's like the Shack Stack version of the skål project, which documents the scrunched faces of people after they down a shot of aquavit, as part of the Scandinavian toasting ritual.
* Apologies: no Dumpling photos this week. Next week, promise!
