Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
As the editor of Serious Eats: NY, I spend an awful lot of time thinking about sandwiches in New York City. But over the last year, jetting around the United States in the name of Serious Eats book research, I had the rare and delightful opportunity to try them from all corners of this sandwich-crazed land of ours. (Sometimes two dozen of them in one day—which, er, I don't recommend.)
Here are the sandwiches I'm still thinking about months later. The ones that had me calling the Serious Eats office with my mouth still full, so important was it they understood how good the sandwich was. The ones I find myself talking about far too often.
