"Now, if only someone could come up with an app to measure the Scoville scale of chiles and hot sauces before consuming them."
I never knew I would become hopelessly addicted to my iPhone. Call me app-obsessed, but in my six months of owning it, I'm constantly searching for apps to make my life easier. And, like much everything else, I am especially on the hunt for food-related ones. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not on the lookout for applications with recipes but rather information for when I'm in a pinch.
iSpice offers information for various spices, herbs and seasonings with videos, recipes and purchasing sources. Just the other day, I was in Whole Foods' spice section trying to find mustard powder when I came across a spice I had never heard of: asafetida. I opened iSpice to read more about asafetida: it's heavily used in Indian cuisine and commonly referred to as the "stinking spice." There were recipe links included too. Ahhh, thank you modern technology!
Now, if only someone could come up with an app to measure the Scoville scale of chiles and hot sauces before consuming them, I'd be so happy. Are there any spicy apps you would create?
