Oh, let us count the ways we find joy from a pumpkin. Carving, pie-making, seed-roasting, and we can't forget chunkin', the act of hurling pumpkins at 50 miles an hour with a medieval catapult called a trebuchet. It's a popular pastime this time of year, and the most serious of chunkers compete in the World Championship Punkin Chunkin in Bridgeville, Delaware, which will take place between November 5 and 7. Last year's winning orange projectile traveled more than 4,480 feet. Just think about the splat at the end!
In this music video, the lyrics say it all: "It's punkin chunkin time in Delaware and yeah, we were born to chunk. Gonna watch those orbs soar through the air, 'cause pumpkins were born to fly." Watch it after the jump.
