What Are Your New Year's Food Resolutions?

Trite as it may be, most of us do make resolutions around this time of year—and many of those involve, you guessed it, food. Ed already talked about his diet resolutions for 2010. But whether or not you're on an active weight loss campaign, it's a good time to stop and reflect on your eating habits.

These are my resolutions for 2010:

  • Take advantage of my local markets. I live within a stone's throw of the Grand Army Plaza farmers' market in Brooklyn, held every Saturday morning. But often, I'm too tired or forgetful to walk two blocks for the freshest veggies in town. New York is lucky to have a phenomenal market system and I resolve to make better use of it. Even when it's cold outside.
  • Stay away from office food. You think your neighbor's candy jar is bad? I spend my days within arm's reach of the goodies that end up at Serious Eats Headquarters from all over the world. Some treats are too good to pass up—and sure, I'll have a truffle from a fine chocolatier or one of Caroline's cookies. But nibbling can't be the norm.
  • Bring my own lunches. Even just leftovers. Saves money and keeps me away from office food.

What about you? What are your resolutions for 2010?
