Weekend DVD Giveaway: 'Bottle Shock'

20090116-bottleshock-dvd.jpgBottle Shock is the story of the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976. Also known as The Judgment of Paris, it was a blind-tasting organized to pit California wines against their French counterparts.

When the judges—nine French, one British, and one American—rated the California wines best in each category, it put Napa Valley wines on the map.

If you haven't seen it, Bottle Shock is a charming and funny movie with a great ensemble cast (Bill Pullman, Alan Rickman, Eliza Dushku, and Dennis Farina, among others)—one that food and wine lovers would do well in checking out (or checking out again).

It comes out on DVD February 3 (bonus features include a behind-the-scenes featurette, an inside look at Napa's Chateau Montelena winery, deleted scenes, and cast and crew commentary), but we've got three copies to give away this weekend.

All you have to do to win is write a wine-related haiku in the comments below. The best three (3) haiku, as determined by SE staff, win a copy. Cheers!

Contest will end and comments will close at 3 p.m. ET, Monday, January 19, 2009. One entry per community member. The standard Serious Eats contest rules apply.
