Left over Make Over Meals-Your best dishes

I will never forget telling my roommate about how my mom used to make spaghetti casserole when I was a kid... he got so excited over the prospect that he insisted I make spaghetti that night so he could experience this miracle of modern home science. The look on his face when he realized it was the leftover spaghetti thrown in a pan with cheese on top then baked in the oven till melty and warm through was beyond priceless.

Can I pickle Middle Eastern cucumbers?

I don't see why they wouldn't pickle just fine. I mean, if you can do it to okra with tasty, tasty results then a different variety of cuke should do fine. I loaned out my recipe book with all the pickling and canning bits to a friend with an abundance of squash and tomatoes but I'll see if he can shoot me one of the basic ones real quick to share. :)

Secret recipes: yay or nay?

Normally, I have no problems sharing a recipe. I will say though that after my mom shearched for literally decades for the perfect peanut butter fudge recipe then swore me to secrecy on it, I rather like having that as our family secret. Sure a handful of us know it but we have to get permission to share it. It seems a touch more special that way.

Let's talk iced tea

Boil water, pour over either four luzianne family size bags or six of any other brand family size let steep for a bit, at least fifteen min add a cup of sugar then dilute with cold water. That does a tasty gallon which lasts a full day in my house if nobody gets really thirsty.

Dinner Party: 2-part question

@Erin_in_AR and @Cookbook_Junkie Not only do I love my good old alpha bakery cookbook, my daughter who's just starting to learn her way around the kitchen loves it too! The turtle bread is her favorite at the moment but the cheeseburger pie only recently got knocked out of the top spot.

Drinking the Bottom Shelf: Boone's Farm

Man, boones drivers were a rite of passage back in high school. Part boones farm (fuzzy navel if you got it) and part cheapest vodka you can get your hands on.

Thankgiving side dish ideas - HELP!!

At our house we do all the traditional stuuf sort of tweaked up a bit as well as some stuff that others might find a little odd on the turkey day spread.

Ranch Potatoes (mashed potatos with powder ranch mix added, yes I know how it sounds but trust me, it's delish.)
Green Bean casserole (sauteed beans, shrooms and onions then make a gravy using the drippings and bake it all to lovelyness)
Asparagus casserole (pretty much the same as green bean but with asapagus instead)
Oven roasted Garlic and Butter glazed brussle sprouts
Homemade stuffing (corenbread and regular bread mixed with onions celery and carrots)
Butternut squash tots (roast the squash, mash it then portion out little bits and deep fry them)
Lime and cranberry relish

Kimchi Donuts from Dunkin' Donuts in Korea

As long as they aren't covered in sugary glaze (which they don't appear to be) I think these would be pretty freakin awesome. Also, would love to get in on the yogurt filled ones. Now I want to make donuts with all kinds of wierd fillings. Hummus donuts anyone?
