Summer has brought a lot of bland, disappointing fare. Images of fresh caught seafood at a beach vacation dissolve into rude awakenings of watery salmon and mushy tuna. Can after can is cracked open to reveal uninspiring meals that blend together from day to catnap to night. I don't expect much out of August, but found myself face to face with Merrick's Purrfect Bistro late one night. That's when everything changed.
