The Next Food Network Star [Warning: Spoiler]

I'm not a real big reality show watcher, but recently I've been hooked on The Next Food Network Star, and Top Chef. If you caught TNFNS tonight, then you know that Nipa has been voted off the island. She has been in trouble for a couple of episodes, but tonight when she couldn't clean a squid, or fillet a fish, her demise was inevitable. My favorite chef so far is Lisa, and she slipped and took a sauce bath tonight, but came through like a pro, finished her dish, and made a remarkable presentation, sauce and all. Aaron is my next favorite, and Kelsey after him. Kelsey seems to be really talented, and I like her, but she reminds me of Reese Witherspoon, which isn't a bad thing, its like being the legally blonde chef. Kelsey won both challenges tonight, and will have her winning dish available at your local Red Lobster, which I intend to experience asap. My favorite is still Lisa, and I hope she wins.

TNFNS: Lisa can SING??? Like oil in the pan...and I eat my words

I loved her presentation, Lisa has been my favorite to win all along. She has made some serious improvement over the course of the show, and seems much more relaxed in front of the camera. I would really like to see her win, and get her own program, Lisa has the looks, and skill to make a fabulous FN star. Go Lisa!

OK...Who's Going to WIN NFNS....Adam, Aaron or Lisa?

I hope it is Lisa, she has the most to offer, and can cook up a storm. Go Lisa!

Just saw Next Food Network Star. Who's in the lead?

My favorite is still Lisa, if she throws in some French words to describe her cooking, and dishes, thats ok, I'm always open to learning something new. Adam nailed last nights episode, I think he was the clear winner, and this after almost getting kicked off the island last week. Shane did get kicked off, he seemed to be a likeable contestant, and after a little more life experience, he'll be back, and win. Aaron is my next favorite, and last nights runner up. After a rough start, he really connected with the audience and his little helper. This is the Aaron I've been waiting to see for weeks. Go Lisa!

The Next Food Network Star [Warning: Spoiler]

I am really looking forward to watching this episode after seeing the previews, and watching the snipets on Rachel Ray's website. Thirty minutes to go and we'll know who is going home and who will continue to the next challenge. I still support Lisa, she seems to have the best combination of culinary knowledge, and personality.

Chain Restaurant Burgers

Hi bessfour, I logged on to the Counter Burger website, and this looks like a winner. I live on the East Coast also, and hope one will be coming to the Central Fla area. If no one replies to your post, please give an update, thanks!

Chain Restaurant Burgers

Ruby Tuesday's alpine swiss burger is really tasty, and I hate to admit it, but also fast-food chain, Dairy Queen's mushroom swiss grillburger, although it is very messy.

What's the Best American Food?

I'm not 100% sure but what about country fried steak? sometimes called chicken fried steak. A restaurant in my town offers a hungry mans breakfast with country fried steak, two eggs, hash browns, bisquits and gravy, and toast, yummy!

Fresh Corn on the Cob: Your Favorite Preps and Recipes?

I live in Florida, and have always had locally grown, and imported corn on the cob, grilled, steamed, boiled, I've even had it cooked inside the husk in tar (that was really tasty, seriously). But the sweetest, and most flavorful corn I've ever eaten came from the Connecticut valley in Massachusetts. A friend of mine had a vegatable stand in Massachusetts at one time, and he told me that the best corn came from the Connecticut Valley. So when the crop came in, I rode along with him to score some corn. We ate some of it raw off the cob, I have never tasted corn this sweet, and delicious ever, and it was even better cooked. I can't wait to get some more.

What foods are uniquely '80s'?

To the person missing cherry 7-up they still make it. I get it in Philly all the time.

Having grown up in southern California in the 80's I desperately miss Cactus Cooler. I also loved Monterey Jack Cheese Doritos.

I did a lot of dining at Sizzler in the 80's.

The Next Food Network Star's Lisa Garza: Love Her or Hate Her?

Unattractive and talentless women are very good at spewing hatred. Lisa is the moral winner. Aaron was inarticulate, boring and his food was unimaginative and uninspiring. I and my GF love lisa and her restaurant.

Some vegetables love sandy soil so what's your point?

She wants to have a farm on the beach? Does she have any idea how vegetables grow?

The Next Food Network Star's Lisa Garza: Love Her or Hate Her?

I think Lisa is a beautiful, intelligent young woman who is knowledgable about food and is an excellent cook. I have to say that I am surprised at how nasty so many people are when posting about her. It kind of freaks me out that a cooking show host contest can generate so much poison.

I commend all the contestants. Some have far more stage presence than others, but all brought something unique to the show and all, it appears, are good cooks.

It may not be commonplace to see ladies wearing designer clothes and shoes in the kitchen, but the lady turned out wonderful food without getting a spot on her clothing. We could all take a lesson from her. It isn't a sin to look nice in the kitchen (or anywhere for that matter). Beats the heck out of jeans and flip flops all the time.

I also signed up just to comment. Although my choice was Aaron, and I did not care for Lisa, I'm kind of disappointed in the venom that is being spewed her way by the bloggers. Between viewing comments from blogs on a few sites, it's frightening how many people are downright hating! Poor Aaron appears to be really getting it from so many sides which is okay if it's an opinion; but so much of it's racial epithets! viewers, it's disgraceful! Let's stop such hatred and nastiness because we don't agree with a choice, or with what a person should look like. Let's try to embrace diversity, and Ha! Ha! ,women cooking in the kitchen with high heels and expensive blouses! Lighten up, good people !

The Next Food Network Star's Lisa Garza: Love Her or Hate Her?

I have to wonder, why would any chef wear designer anything, high heels? Nooooooooo, that is insane!! At least wear a chefs coat to protect clothing. Her hair reminds me of the child book by Beverly Cleary, Beazus and Ramona, she looks like the little sister Ramona, exact same hair style (bowl cut). Some of her dresses remind me of June Cleaver of Leave It To Beaver, to the hilt, Lisa even wears a pearl necklace that was Barbara Billingsby's trademark on the show. I was in shock (and delight) when Paula Deen, PAULA DEEN people hated her mac & cheese, come on Paula deep fries butter balls, for her to HATE Lisa's mac & cheese? But who I was so happy to be eliminated was Kelsey, her squeaky voice made me want to run (not walk ) to the nearest bar around and drink till the ringing in my ears stop!!
