Chicken Trek was my favorite book in elementary school. If you can find it (it is out of print) read it. Incredibly evocative descriptions of fried chicken, especially for a children's book.

Grandmother. Everyone else in the family was a finicky eater so the only way I could be adventuresome in my diet was to beg her to go through cookbooks with me. She still sends me recipes now that she's mastered the interweb.

Pi is pretty amazing. I can understand why the President elect would rave about it. It's probably the best deep dish in Saint Louis, although my favorite Pizza would have to go to Katie's Pizzeria.
