Looking for Rome/Florence food suggestions!

Thanks everybody! As someone mentioned above, I went looking for other SE: Talk on the same topic...between the two I think we'll be well on our way! Grazie mille!

What Are the Absolute Must-Visits in Portland, Oregon?

Pine State Biscuits (McIsley = fried chicken, biscuit, honey, stone mustard and pickles...amazing!). Potato Champion serves up poutine until the wee hours...try it w/anchovy taragon mayo, really good.

I'm also a big fan of Ken's Artisan Pizza!

My Pizza Oven: Caleb Schiff (aka Flagstaff Forno)

I'm really interested in the brining...what type of ratios do you use? I'd love to give this a try soon! I've never brined greens before, so I'm really curious .

I second the cacio e pepe! Second vote = arancini in Sicily! I think that counts as cucina povera...

Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries & Shakes'

For the Fourth I tried hamburgers with grilled red onions, gorgonzola cheese and a tarragon, rosemary, garlic aioli. I must say, it was one of the best homemade burgers I've made yet. Definitely will be using the homemade aioli again!

have pizza making questions?

I always buy my pizza dough from the local pizza shop. $1 gets me the premade dough that comes out to a nice 12" thin crust pizza. I'll gladly keep paying that dollar for quality and convenience.

Also, I grilled my first pizza today on the Weber! Worked out quite well, nice and crispy, bbq chicken style pizza with blue cheese. Nice to have the option when you are firing up the grill. Right on the grill, flip it and add sauce/condiments.

Would You Seriously Date Someone Who Didn't Love Food?

I was just thinking about posting this question last night! whenever I meet someone and see the possibility of something coming together I have to probe the food issue. Once a girl told me she couldn't eat tomatoes, along with a litany of other items. It killed me. No pizza?! Needless to say, nothing came of that...

Eating Well and Cheaply: Any More Ideas Out There?

I'm a fan of using top ramen noodles as my carb for stirfry. Quick, cheap and a nice change of pace from the usual rice.
