Cook the Book: The Southern Italian Table

I second the cacio e pepe! Second vote = arancini in Sicily! I think that counts as cucina povera...

Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries & Shakes'

For the Fourth I tried hamburgers with grilled red onions, gorgonzola cheese and a tarragon, rosemary, garlic aioli. I must say, it was one of the best homemade burgers I've made yet. Definitely will be using the homemade aioli again!

have pizza making questions?

I always buy my pizza dough from the local pizza shop. $1 gets me the premade dough that comes out to a nice 12" thin crust pizza. I'll gladly keep paying that dollar for quality and convenience.

Also, I grilled my first pizza today on the Weber! Worked out quite well, nice and crispy, bbq chicken style pizza with blue cheese. Nice to have the option when you are firing up the grill. Right on the grill, flip it and add sauce/condiments.

Would You Seriously Date Someone Who Didn't Love Food?

I was just thinking about posting this question last night! whenever I meet someone and see the possibility of something coming together I have to probe the food issue. Once a girl told me she couldn't eat tomatoes, along with a litany of other items. It killed me. No pizza?! Needless to say, nothing came of that...

Eating Well and Cheaply: Any More Ideas Out There?

I'm a fan of using top ramen noodles as my carb for stirfry. Quick, cheap and a nice change of pace from the usual rice.

Yea! heat/toast in the oven and spread some butter over it. I'll have to try the french toast idea, sounds delicious!

Angel hair pasta with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper would be my choice. Adding cheese would be optional.

Ahhh, so many things to choose from, and economical too! I am going to go with Pasta Puttanesca, the spices and the anchovies really knock me out. I love to add extra cheese to it also, and serve it with nice crusty bread!

I cook a great chicken parmesan! It's actually Amy Sedaris's recipe but I love it.

Dude. Roasted garlic in olive oil and butter spread over fresh-baked bread. Is there anything better? I think not. Cheaper? Heck no.
