Looking at the stuffing recipes, I gotta say the cornbread, bacon and pecan recipe sounds really tasty!

I have to agree with the brussel sprouts and bacon!

I second the cacio e pepe! Second vote = arancini in Sicily! I think that counts as cucina povera...

Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries & Shakes'

For the Fourth I tried hamburgers with grilled red onions, gorgonzola cheese and a tarragon, rosemary, garlic aioli. I must say, it was one of the best homemade burgers I've made yet. Definitely will be using the homemade aioli again!

have pizza making questions?

I always buy my pizza dough from the local pizza shop. $1 gets me the premade dough that comes out to a nice 12" thin crust pizza. I'll gladly keep paying that dollar for quality and convenience.

Also, I grilled my first pizza today on the Weber! Worked out quite well, nice and crispy, bbq chicken style pizza with blue cheese. Nice to have the option when you are firing up the grill. Right on the grill, flip it and add sauce/condiments.

Would You Seriously Date Someone Who Didn't Love Food?

I was just thinking about posting this question last night! whenever I meet someone and see the possibility of something coming together I have to probe the food issue. Once a girl told me she couldn't eat tomatoes, along with a litany of other items. It killed me. No pizza?! Needless to say, nothing came of that...

Eating Well and Cheaply: Any More Ideas Out There?

I'm a fan of using top ramen noodles as my carb for stirfry. Quick, cheap and a nice change of pace from the usual rice.

Is Panettone the New Fruitcake?

Yea! heat/toast in the oven and spread some butter over it. I'll have to try the french toast idea, sounds delicious!

Dorie Greenspan's Holiday Cake. To have 3 hours after dinner with a nice glass of something bubbly. (Probably Alka-Seltzer)

Mark Bittman's Cranberry Relish with Orange and Ginger sounds EXACTLY like the cranberry orange relish my mom used to make, except that she added pecans and made hers using an old-fashioned meat grinder (the kind you clamp to a counter top) instead of a food processor. I still make it every year!

I just made the scalloped yukon gold and sweet potatoe gratin for a work potluck....and will be making it again for Thanksgiving.

Sautéed brussels sprouts with bacon and some walnuts tossed in, is still my
choice.

The classic menu just sounds perfect, I can even smell the Turkey cooking now. I'm not so sure about the pumpkin pudding pie but as long as the rest of the meal goes as planned I'm sure it would be wonderful.

Chocolate peanut butter mousse pie. I would *so* make that if I could skip the pumpkin and apple pies (which I can't.) Le sigh.

I would try your pumpkin cheesecake... YUMM!

The peanut butter chocolate mousse pie sounds amazing. I'm imagining a Reese's peanut butter cup converted into pie form!!
