This took forever to bake, but it was so worth it. My coworker who normally only eats an orange for lunch had 2 slices of this bread and declared it "heavenly."

My coworkers and I tried it twice. The first time was fine--nothing stood out, but for a quick snack it sufficed. When I went back again I was let down. Half the order was cold and greasy, and the dough was far too thick for my tastes.

I do see most of the Chinese customers ordering soups, so maybe that is the way to go.

My dad favored having a "treat" each evening, a couple hours after dinner. Sometimes fruit, sometimes cookies or pudding, whatever was on hand.
