Low-cut tops. Am I alone on this?

I'm not a chef, nor am I a prude. I love to cook and I wear low cut tops on occasion. I have cleavage and I see nothing wrong with showing it off at an appropriate time. A cooking show, however, is not the appropriate time or place. Yes, we do see more skin on the subway or train, and we also hear foul language in those places. Should we expect to hear it on a cooking show as well? I think not. Just because we see something on a train, doesn't make it right for television. I believe Sandro (above) made an accurate statement when she said that Giada "dresses no differently than other young women these days." That's the problem. I certainly would expect someone who holds herself in such high regards to dress better than the "standard" young woman.

Giada's cooking is okay...nothing to brag about and nothing to make for guests if you really want to impress them. It's okay for family night.

This site is about cooking, and the Food Network should also be about cooking, not about cleavage. Having said that, I must admit that I agree with the majority of people here who would rather have Giada cover up and make her program about the food, not about the sex. If that's what it takes to get the ratings, I honestly feel sorry for Giada. Her career on television will be quite short.

You're not alone. I haven't watched Giada for about a year because of her lack of judgement regarding her attire. Of course, I don't really like her cooking either. I am Italian (I came to the United States when I was five years old), and I make authentic Italian food (as does my mother). Giada's recipes are basically American with a bit of oregano or basil thrown in so she can call them Italian.

Do you just love Giada's phony Italian accent when she talks about an Italian food? That's the only time she has an accent. It got so annoying to me that I had to turn it off. But, yes, the tops are way too revealing for a day time TV cooking show.

Yeah, I checked out the Esquire article. Here's the link:

You'll be totally grosssed out. She is so unattractive, I can't believe they used her for the shoot. Don't miss the three pictures below the main one. She certainly is looking for attention, isn't she. Unfortunately, it's the wrong kind.

That Esquire link grossed me out completely. How could anyone think that looks good. While I generally dislike Giada anyway...too concerned about the boobs...I dislike her even more now. What was she thinking? She'll do anythink at all to get attention. That's usually the sign of someone who gets little or no attention from their spouse. If that's the case, who can blame him? YUCK!

Favorite chef is Emeril. Least favorite is Giada.

There are several true chefs on television right now, and there are many who simply add some "fluff" to the network. Fluff is fine with me, especially if the program tell you ahead of time (like Rachael, Sandra Lee, etc.) that the show is for people who don't have much time or experience in the kitchen.

The one show that simply rubs me the wrong way is Giada. Is this a cooking show or an introduction to a porn show? Why is it necessary to display so much cleavage on a cooking show? After reading the blogs above, apparently many people feel the same way. Doesn't anyone from the Food Network read these blogs? They should!

And, like those above have said, why use an Italian accent only when you pronounce Italian food items? That's quite funny, coming from someone who lived in the United States since she was a small child.

If Giada wants to be considered a better chef, she should give up on the cleavage and concentrate on the food. I’m sure she can say “spaghetti” rather than “spa-geeeeeeeeeee-teeee,” or “biscotti” rather than “beeee-scooooo-teeeee”.

Yes, I’m also tired of the tight shots of her hands breaking the garlic cloves away from the bulb. Enough already! It’s not sexy!
