Thank you in advance for any and all help. I am sure this question has been addressed countless times, but I'm brand new to the blog and I was referred by another party.
I've read a few post's and watched a video about sous vide. I would like to try the 'beer cooler' technique, as my funds are extremely limited. It appears, quite easy, but I am wondering if looks are deceiving. Can anyone advise of their findings (i'm not much of a chef).
Also, is there a technique to cook jerky (again, not a good cook, so I'm unsure about any of these processes and the aforementioned questions may be lame, for which I apologize).
Thanks for your help.

Simon,
Thank you for your help and advice. I am not, totally, concerned with learning how to cook, per se, but being able to merely making something edible. I volunteer approximately 10 hours a week at my daughters school, I coach two soccer teams, and work approximately 11 hours each day with an hour commute. So, my hope is to utilize my time in an efficient manner with a technique that will allow me to cook multiple items at one time --as, again, my time is extremely limited ( conversely, I can just keep using the microwave).
And, I did not suppose the two were related, which is why I said if the question was lame I apologize. And, I would have never thought of cooking meat in a 'beer cooler' either--but, apparentely that works.
Thanks for your help Simon.
