Shipping wine from Europe?

Does anyone have any experience with shipping wine home from Europe? What is the best/easiest/cheapest way to do this? I'm going to France next week and I know I'm going to want to buy a lot of wine... packing it in my suitcase makes me nervous. Wine recommendations also welcome. ;)

What to do with lemon curd?

I bought a jar of lemon curd at Trader Joe's on a whim. The sign at the store said to spread it on crumpets, which I did (delicious!). Now what do I do with it?

The Next Food Network Star - are we watching?

I decided to watch the show because of the girl who cooks Indian food... I've been hoping for a long time that FN would have a show in that vein. But she was awful. I don't know if I'll watch the rest or not... perhaps I will tune in for the demise of Posh, if nothing else. :)

I get invited to a lot of parties now, that's all I'm going to say.

Paula Deen Is Trying to Kill Us, Part 5: Butter, Mayo, Whiz Cheese Spread

I love Paula Deen. I wish she were my neighbor so that I could go to her barbeques and eat all of her delicious, mayonnaise and butter-laden creations.

SE users: please introduce yourselves.

Hello all... I'm ultraviolet (after my favorite U2 song). I'm 28, originally from MA, but now live in New Jersey for my job. I often say that the most redeeming quality about NJ is the widespread availability of really good pizza. I'm obsessed with food, and am excited about an upcoming trip to France. When people ask me what I plan to do there, my response is always, "Eat pastries and drink wine." What else is there? ;)

Watching food shows for the chef, not the show.

Whatever happened to Dave Lieberman? He was adorable.

original Iron Chef, or Iron Chef America?

The Japanese version is way more entertaining, although I like the American version because the food they prepare is more along the lines of what I would eat. Believe me, I have searched the listings many times to see if they were airing the old Japanese episodes and never find them. You can't even rent them on Netflix, which probably means you can't see them anywhere. I hope someone out there knows how to find them...

What should I make from Bittman's "How to cook everything..."?

My favorite thing that I've made from this cookbook is the spaghetti and meatballs. I realize that's probably not the most exciting thing in the book, but it really is delicious. I use his pizza dough recipe too.

Tip... the beef stew was NOT good. Avoid that one.

Good luck!

In Videos: I Drink Your Shamrock Milkshake

Shamrock shakes are the best thing about living in NJ. Is that a compliment to the shamrock shake, or an insult to NJ? You decide.

when my husband is out-of-town for a few days, i make a big bowl of couscous with garbonzos, kalamatas, feta, red onions, tomatoes, misc veggies, olive oil, and red wine vinegar or lemon. i don't usually make it when he's home because it's not his favorite. the best part is, the big bowl lasts me awhile so i get a break from cooking dinner for a few days.

When my husband is gone I ALWAYS make my mom's "brown spaghetti" and a Quick Linguini and Clams! They warm my heart and fill my belly with a touch of home.
