What’s Your Favorite Weird Snack Combo?

I like to dip a spoon in peanut butter and add plain m&m's to it, although that's really not that weird but my Mom likes to eat peanut butter and ketchup sandwiches. I tried once and didn't like it but she loves it.

I also like Cheetos or Ruffles between my peanut butter and jam/jelly sandwiches.

Also why isn't the McRib a regular menu item? They sell it in some parts of the US for like a month then it goes away for another year. Is this a great marketing scheme?

When I moved to England they have the Fried Apple pies but during Christmas McDonalds has Fried Mince Pies filled with Vanilla Custard. When I lived on Guam as a kid I would get rice from McDonalds for breakfast and pour milk on it. I thought it was really good.

Paula Deen Is Trying to Kill Us, Part 4: Bacon, Doughnut, Egg Burger

Where's the LOVE? Paula didn't make up these recipes they have been around for a while, she is a southern cook who makes southern dishes. Some southern dishes are loaded with butter and lard, that's traditional southern like it or not. It is what it is.

Top 10 Awesome Nostalgic Foods We Want Back

I recently moved to England and went into McDonalds and freaked out with excitement when I saw fried apple pies, people probably thought I had lost my mind. '
I miss Gator Chips, they were sold in Florida and they were deep fried chips with BBQ seasoning with a gator on the bag. They were so good. They only thing similar is Kettle Chips BBQ. I also miss Smurf Cereal, it turned the milk blue.

Thanks NotAmerican for the link.
A few other foods that I really enjoy beside clotted cream is for one the
cheddar cheese, it's amazing. It's not dyed orange, it's pure white. I really love this cheddar cheese I found that is made with caramelized onions. I also like Banoffee pie (it's banana and toffee) and honeycomb ice cream. British food usually gets a bad wrap but it's really not all that bad.

The only thing I really miss from the US that I can't get in the UK is a really good Mexican restaurant with great Mexican food. Mexican food hasn't really caught on here. Don't get me wrong my grandmother is Mexican and has thought me how to cook mexican dishes but sometimes I don't feel like cooking. The avocados here are not Haas and don't taste as buttery as what I get back home.

Oh and Wagamama's chain need to open more locations in the US, they are all over London and the UK but there are on two in all of the US. That's one chain over here that would really do well in the states.

What I want to know is why isn't Clotted Cream more available in the states? I am an American living in the UK and am dreading moving back unless I can find a supplier of Clotted Cream.

Cheap Eats in London

I moved to England a year ago and live outside of Cambridge and when we go to London we usually eat at Wagamamas or EAT. I have three kids so, it gets very expensive for a family of five to have a proper sit down meal. I find going to the farmer's markets and street markets you can find some cheap meals. I avoid the chip stands and Indian food takeaways, unless someone I know has eaten at it before with no problems. I agree with Kerry Saretsky the regular grocery store has some awesome finds really cheap. Shop at Tesco or Sainbury's at night as they tend to make down food at night. Ribena is good and Flavored Barley water but you will need to water it down because Barley water is strong. Peach is our favorite. Tesco's curry line is not bad. It's better then what some takeaways offer. Some Farm shops have great prepared food. This site www.chegworthvalley.com has a listing of farm shops. Experiment and look at what other people are buying that will give you a good indication whether it's good or not. The food here in England (I hate to say this) is superior quality then what you find in the US as they have far more restrictions on food compared to the US. Take Coke Cola for example the bottle label has no corn syrup listed because it's not in there, it says sugar, now whether that's good or bad I don't know but sugar is better then corn syrup, in my opinion. Everything imported has to meet these standards that why coke has a factory here, plus to ship it here would cost a fortune. It's great to eat out but with the food quality here being ( and the economy) what it is, pack a picnic when on the go and stay in and eat. But do splurge on yourself. I hope this helps.

HELP! Vegetarian Recipes needed!

You can't go wrong with blueberry pancakes or a veggie breakfast burrito.

For lunch peanut butter and sliced bananas sandwich. If no one has a peanut allergy. If they do they make sun butter, it's a peanut butter substitute.

For dinner how about homemade Macaroni and Cheese with diced tomatoes or chopped broccoli. Or a creamy potato soup in a bread bowl, the kids can make bread bowls for the soup.

For a snack my kids like fruit kabobs. They take bamboo skewers and add cut melon, grapes, strawberries, cut apples and kiwi. All fruits work well and then they dip it in vanilla yogurt.

These are what my kids like and we are vegetarian.

I agree with Jerzee Tomato, Mrs. Wilkes boarding house, the food is really good. It reminded me of eating at my Grandmother's house. It's family dining too, so everyone passes food around the table. Paula Deen's restaurant it's now a tourist attraction like Disneyworld, and like most tourist attractions the food is cheaply done and overpriced. Don't get me wrong, I like Paula Deen, I love her cookbooks and have gotten many compliments on meals I have used her recipes for, but the restaurant has lost it's touch.
