Blake's does make a fine burger, cooked and stacked the way you want it, and their green chile is authentic, meaning it makes locals sweat and touristas cry. You can get green chile on your burger at most of the national chain joints here in Nuevo Mexico, but it's usually straight from a can, watery, pale and bland tasting.

This is a little late, but there was a cookie lady rooting for Obama through her baked goods!

Cute little story.

I, for one, wish I had gone to a party where they made some of these delicious sounding dishes!

This west coast Obama household is planning a small "watch the returns" party. i really wanted to come up with something Hawaiian-Indonesian-Kenyan-Kansas-Chicago to reflect the background of Senator Obama but had to stop when my brain showed signs of leaking out my ears!

And yes, this is a definite "swallow before reading" list.

And I decided to go with the feed-a-crowd standard. Pasta (but not spaghetti, too messy) with meat and non-meat sauces, bread (garlic and non, and salad (no arugula but yes, lots of little leaves and spinach).

Remember, vote early and vote often!!!!

Good job Erin! I had a nice laugh :) Especially at the "right wings" and "McCain frozen foods" haha

I have to say that I would be excited too if I got to hold an American ballot.
LOL Red Bull

Lubs all the neat little play on words foods and then: coffee.

It's gonna be a loooong night. *Let's hope not*

Mmmm...Red Velvet Cake. A local pizza place has the best red velvet cake I have ever had. I may just have to stop by there for dinner tonight after seeing that.

This list is so great.

I went to watch part of the NYC marathon Sunday, and there were several runners dressed politically-- but my favorite was a guy that had a shirt that said PLEASE VOTE OBAMA! and on the back it said I'M CANADIAN AND I CAN'T!

"I Can See White Russians from my House" is hilarious. Glad I wasn't taking a sip of coffee when I read that.

Don't forget to put Red Bull on the beverage list. Red Bull: you've been hearing it for 8 years, now drink it.

I have to say I'd be excited too if I got to hold an American ballot. Wish we had absentee ballots in Ireland, but you barely get any time to vote there. The papers are full of the election debate but my job in particular, there is barely a ripple of interest. I asked what everyones thoughts on the vote result were and was met with a wall of silence - disappointing!

Election apathy, EatersRegret? I remember stopping down at the post office with my absentee ballot in England four years ago. The clerk was so excited - asked me if that was really an American ballot, asked me if she could hold it, etc. It was Friday before election day and she also asked if it would reach the United States on time. I tried to explain that they continued to count absentee ballots if the race was close, but she insisted on paying for expedited post service herself. Now if you excuse me, polls open in 15 minutes and I have to get dressed.

Great list, I'm in the UK and can't vote but maybe make some of this anyway. Can't believe the election apathy at my work, ok I know it isn't our country, but c'mon people, it's only the fate of the free world at stake ;-)

Great stuff, Erin!

However; The "Sloppy Plumber Joe" concept is all wet ... a pipe-dream ... heading right down the drain ... they're investigating a possible leak from higher-up ... what a drip ... don't care to read or hear about that plumber's butt no more ...
