Cook the Book: 'New Classic Family Dinners'

For me Sunday dinner is the best. Its not just about the meal, its an all day event. Most of the time there is a pot of Sunday gravy just gurgling away on the stove. My family eats a loaf of Italian bread by dipping it in the sauce all day long. I always have to add extra tomato sauce to the pot. Then we have an early pasta dinner. And later if you're still hungry there is cold rigatoni for a night time snack.

My first cookbook was The GirlScouts Cookbook. My morther bought it for me. I can't remember using it for anything more than a zucchini bread recipe. I have recently picked it up again and enjoy reading it for the kitsche and inspiration.

I think Hell's Kitchen is a reality show set in a restaurant. It is definitely not a cooking show. Its a crossover and cannot quite connect to the foodie audience. Maybe it connects with Jerry Springer's audience. lol.
